Chief Master Sergeant Del G. Atkinson is the Security Forces Manager for the 136th Security Forces Squadron Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas Air National Guard
Chief Atkinson was born in Black River Falls, Wisconsin on March 14, 1964 and entered federal active duty service in the United States Army on August 18, 1982. He was stationed in Nuremburg, West Germany with the 595th Military Police Company, First Armored Division “Old Ironsides” and the 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles” with the 101st Military Police Company Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Upon completion of his Army service he entered into the Air National Guard. Chief Atkinson has served in many combat deployments such as Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and CORONET OAK. In 2008 Chief Atkinson left the Springdale Police Department when he accepted an AGR position with the 113th Wing as a Phoenix Raven flying VIP Airlift missions. He has logged over 1200 hours in the air in many different aircraft and has flown many Senate, Congressional, White House and First Lady Missions around the world. He was responsible for securing VIP PL1 and PL3 aircraft while transitioning between airfields around the globe that do not have adequate security in place. He has performed many Presidential Directive Detainee Movement Operations as Lead Raven securing detainees without incident to other countries for repatriation.
Chief Atkinson also performed duties as Operations Superintendent working President Obama’s first and second inauguration details, State of the Union Address and the President’s Summit for visiting heads of State working with United States Secret Service. During his assignment to the 113th Wing he was temporary assigned to Headquarters Air Force National Guard Bureau as the Operations Superintendent, Air National Guard Security Forces, Air National Guard Readiness Center, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. He lead operations for a MAJCOM level organization, which manages ANG Security Forces Operations, Phoenix Raven Program, Detainee Movement Operations, Domestic Operations, Force Protection, Plans, Programs and Resources for more than 8,000 Air National Guard Security Forces Personnel in 54 States, Territories and the District of Columbia.
